Rome's Birthday Celebration 2005
April 17th, 2005

The annual gathering for the Birthday of rome took place this year on april 17th in Rome.
More than twenty roman reenactment groups and cultural societies' members walked on the most important Rome's ancient sites like the Colosseo and the Imperial Forum.
For the fifth year the event has been organized by the Gruppo Storico Romano (http://www.gsr-roma.com).

The 6 Kms march started at 10:30 from Circus Maximus where another car racing big event was hosted in the same time. This created many problems to the "romans" together to a really bad weather. Anyway the roman march started with only few minutes delay and passed at the Constantine Arch, around the Colosseo and through the Forum as in the program. Then all the groups routed back to the Circus Maximus.
Recently the President of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, nominated the organizator for the State Silver Medal.
