Rust on iron armours

Title: Rust on iron armours after 12 hours on the ground.
This big level of oxidation was certainly due to the big humidity from the ground, but the areas affected suggest muck more acid attack that could have exposed the armour to the humidity.
Basically the arm natural acid, the human skin is acid, may have "prepared" the iron for the oxidation occurred during the night.
In the night the armour was 100% not protected and left on the soil in an open space.
